United Mechanical was founded in 1977 by David Brown. From the beginning, the staff at United Mechanical had a passion for solving customer problems utilizing practical mechanical engineering solutions. After 35 years, United Mechanical is now the Charlotte metropolitan area's largest mechanical solution provider. The corporate culture provided by all our employees has driven United Mechanical to be the leading provider of value added mechanical design, installation, and preventive maintenance services.

In 2010 after 26 years at United Mechanical, Bob McHolland assumed the role of President and Service Manager. Bryan Griffin had been with United Mechanical for 17 years and assumed the role of Executive Vice President of Construction and Engineering at the same time. Dave continues his involvement as Chairman and Service Sales Manager.
